Production Meeting Reflection 4

This week went very well as I managed to get a lot of work done throughout. As we started the week on monday the class got set tasks which everyone had to complete, be it some had to work on their own or some had to work with partners. For my task I had to work with another person as a partner to help me out. The task that we were set was to complete a master script which everyone will use when we are filming the music magazine show live. Everyone will be using it and referring to it when they need to do something or go by something. Me and my partner had to complete the first main 6 sections on the program called Excel and the task roughly took us one lesson to complete which was quicker than expected as we were supposed to take two lessons to complete it. The other 5 sections were supposed to be completed by 5 other people in the class who had those tasks such as lighting and sound. When they had finished their parts throughout the week I had to put their sections into the main master script. Overall that was all successfull as it was all completed on time. Nothing needs to be changed out of the tasks which were completed. I worked well with the team as we all negotiated when each others tasks will be finished by and how they will be done. We worked well as a team as everyone got their jobs done sufficiently.

Master Script

Master Script:

This process of work was to complete a master script which will be used by everyone on the day of the show as it is proceeding live. The master script is below.




Process:

As I was set the task, I had to work with a partner in class to do the first 6 sections of the master script which took us a lesson to complete which was less time than expected so we were happy with that aspect. We had to do the script by thinking carefully about how it should all be and I had a good partner to work with as we thought together and creatively gave each other ideas.

The job role that I have been given and will have to work with for the rest of the process is being the director of the live magazine music show. To be the director I have to in control of many things which are making sure that everyone is on point in regards to their tasks meaning I had to make sure that everyone does their tasks and do not hold anyone back. I also have the task of calling out commands in the gallery/control room which the other people on set will have to obide by. This is because I will have the authority of doing so. During this week of classwork I have been doing a new task which is the health and safety risk assessment of the gallery/control room and this had to be completed by the end of the week. I have been preparing for how I will do the tasks in the control room and I think I will do the tasks quite well because I believe that I am a responsible person and also quite decisive. I do not need to change anything in the work that has been produced and would also not need to develop anything. The work I will have to do next week will be a master script for the shots that will be taken in the live show.

Running Order

Reflection on Own Idea

This is my idea reflection.

For my show I have thought of a few ideas that I can contain, one of the ideas that I have thought about containing is a competition segment which enables the fans and audience at home to participate with the show. This is because I will have an artist appearing on the show for an interview. There will also be two presenters and I have chosen two because it will result in more of a variety as there will be a male and a female presenter. The presenters will take part in interviewing the artist and finding out more information about the artist, as they will do this they will also find out information about the artists new single which will soon be released and find out when the single will be released. Another segment which I would like to include is a quick-fire question round. This is where the presenters will use certain questions to ask the artist, as they are going to be quick-fire questions they will most likely require a yes or no answer. I believe this will be a good aspect to add as it will be entertaining for the viewers at home to see and it will also be enjoyable for the artist that is going to be appearing on the show. Another idea that I have thought about including is a pre-recorded segment on the artist, and this will be about a 10 minute video about the artist going around in different areas and showing where they got the inspiration from on their music. This is also how my show is planning to be different than many other magazine shows as it is excessively based on inspiration for music and where it came from. For the competition aspect I have thought about showing a question at the beginning of the show for the audience to answer and they have the whole of the show to think of an answer as it will be revealed at the end of the show, the show will pick a random person who got the answer correct and give them a prize, below I have placed an image of the basic aspect of how the question will look.
The first production meeting consisted of everyone in the class meeting together in a seated order in the class room which was arranged in a circular position. By having it like this it was a good arrangement so that everyone could find out each others ideas.
The feedback that I received after I gave my idea out was quite positive as many people liked the idea that I produced, they also liked my pre recorded features that I mentioned will be in. They liked how the fans can have input on the artists music and thoughts and feelings. Most people said that the name was quite good and relevant to music. They said I could improved by changing one of my pre recorded features which was a segment of an artist giving their feelings on how they felt one of their live shows went.

Production Meeting Reflection 2

During this week of work I was assigned a task which was to make a fully produced running order which the show will use to run by in the process. In the production meeting I firstly pointed out the whole idea of the show to the whole class for example I let them know what the shows name will be and I told them which games and re-recorded features will be included plus much more. I then gave the class the whole running order and I explained what will occur in which ever order. The group had a good response to the progress as the running order was completed on time and they also liked the ideas that I gave that I gave which were going to appear in the show. The successful aspects of this week were that the running order was completed on time, also, I managed to give some people help as they asked me for my views on their own tasks and wanted to know what I thought of them and what I could say to improve the aspects, for example Serife asked me about the logo and what should be done with it and I said that the background of the logo was fine but the only think that needed to be changed was the font of the writing as we thought that it only appealed to one target audience and one genre as it was written in graffiti so this was changed to a more suitable font which appealed to many more genres. The aspect that needs to be changed is the order of a few things that are included in the running order and this is because in some concepts the segments are too close together such as the 3 interviews were relatively close to each other and had to be spread out. I improved this with a partner in class. Next week  I will move on to my next task of a risk assessment. I worked well with the peers as I had a close partner throughout the week that was there with me to get the work done.

Production Meeting Reflection 1

Reflection:

As we entered class on friday we had to sit in a circle around the class and this was so that everyone in the class could present their idea for their music magazine show to the whole class. The meeting was run by everyone presenting their idea one by one to the whole class, it didn't require the person to stand up and show the whole presentation, we simply just sat and expressed our idea to the people surrounding. As one person would be presenting the other people would be taking notes on what the name of the persons show was, what was good about the show, what could be improved and what was the most unique aspect about it which makes it different to other shows. I barely got a response.
The idea which I voted for was Rebeccaa idea and this was because I thought her ideas were quite unique as she had a different sort of layout as to how the seating and set would be arranged. The idea was good however I think it would only relate to one target audience as it seems to be a hip hip show and also the name 'Drop Da Bass' is also in slang which is mostly used in rap and hip hop music. I also think that a live rap battle would be quite tough to fulfil so if she wants it to happen it should be pre-recorded. I think many other ideas can go into it as Aarun's shows name was good as it was 'Pick up the Vibe' and it relates to most audiences. I also think Siddanths and Hollies games can be included as they are unique and haven't really been used before.
